Winter Warm Up takes place the week of November 5 and is part of Vail Summit Orthopaedics’ introduction of its foundation to the Vail and Summit communities.

Vail Summit Orthopedic Foundation, founded in 2013 by Vail-Summit Orthopaedic surgeons, improves the care of patients with musculoskeletal disorders through research, outreach, and education. VSOF is committed to supporting research that leads to immediate gains in the field of orthopaedics, including faster and stronger recovery for patients and new, minimally invasive techniques to get patients back on their feet quickly.

“We are launching Winter Warm Up as a way to familiarize this community with the important research that VSOF is conducting,” explained Dr. Bill Sterett, VSO surgeon and the brainchild behind VSOF. “Taking a class to get ready for skiing, snowshoeing or whatever winter activity is calling to you aligns perfectly with our goal of keeping locals on their feet and enjoying an active lifestyle throughout their lifetimes.”

Winter Warm Up works like this: participating gyms, athletic centers, yoga studios and other fitness facilities throughout both counties will offer classes aimed at getting your body warmed up and ready to take on your favorite winter activities. Members of Eagle and Summit County communities are encouraged to purchase a class voucher for $10 on the VSOF website, then apply that voucher to any or all fitness classes listed on the schedule.

By purchasing a voucher, Winter Warm Up participants are supporting VSOF’s goal to enable local residents to reach their athletic goals and sustain a quality of life which allows us to make the most of this outdoor playground we call home.

*Your receipt acts as your voucher. Simply share your receipt/voucher with each facility when you check in for your class or classes.
